Position Overview

The company is seeking a Specialist to assist with the company’s financial close, fixed assets, leases and ground accounting process. The successful candidate will:

  • Have a working knowledge of GAAP and how it is applied to accounting processes
  • Understand control processes, work directly with internal and external auditors to provide requested information and support, and be able to assist with and perform annual risk assessments
  • Prepare accounting entries through the use of source information, data models, research in financial systems or other data
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, general ledger research, and variance analysis
  • Review and document controls and accounting processes, while seeking out opportunities to automate, increase efficiency, and streamline existing processes
  • Review and summarize accounting implications of documents including contracts, leases, and other legal documents
  • Apply technical research to understand business processes throughout the organization and implement accounting processes and controls
  • Facilitate internal and external reporting processes including monthly preparation and quality control of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow), internal reporting packages, and 10Q/10K disclosures

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Licensed CPA
  • Minimum three years relevant experience (e.g., public accounting with a Big 4 or other top tier firm and/or corporate accounting / financial reporting)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Continuous improvement mindset, looks for ways to improve process efficiency and demonstrates flexibility in a changing environment
  • Positive attitude and inquisitive approach to problem solving
  • A proven ability to work in a team environment and should be detail-oriented, self-directing, and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on deadlines
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or business
  • Advanced degree in accounting or business
  • Experience with the company’s financial tools such as SAP, FCCS, BlackLine, Oracle, Nakisa, Tableau, Alteryx, Microsoft Suite including Power BI and/or SQL
