Position Overview
This role focuses on mainframe software application development for the travel, airline, and reservation industry. Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, you will leverage your expertise in IBM zTPF systems to support the company’s core operational hub and contribute to ongoing transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of TPF applications.
- Troubleshoot and optimize system performance, resolving issues promptly.
- Facilitate complex application performance tests for successful outcomes.
- Provide application teams with data analysis and analytics following performance testing.
- Focus on supporting a wide variety of test systems and test platforms.
- Automate complex test system initializations and facilitate application teams testing requirements.
- Monitor test system health and triage system level issues along with application dumps.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and implement solutions.
- Code, test, and implement software changes using Assembly, C++, and Sabretalk programming languages.
- Perform the full software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to the company's standards.
- Support users with test tools, diagnose issues quickly, and implement workarounds while awaiting fixes.
- Conduct quality checks on implementations presented for RFCs and assist with TPF changes as required.
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- 5+ years of experience in TPF Airline Reservations and/or TPF Airline Operations application development.
- Proficiency in Assembly, C++, and Sabretalk programming languages.
- Strong knowledge of TPFDF and ZTPFGI/test/debug environments.
- Ability to transform business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience with error/dump analysis and troubleshooting complex systems.
- Familiarity with the company’s TPF test environments and IT landscape.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work across multiple projects.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems (or equivalent experience).
- Previous airline industry experience.
- Familiarity with the Company Change Policies and DevOps integration.
- Passion for high-quality software delivery and continuous process improvement.
