What you'll do:
- Advise internal stakeholder teams to define and maintain classification schemas and metadata tagging policies.
- Advise in the deployment of tools to scan and identify sensitive data (PII, PHI, PCI, IP) across structured and unstructured sources.
- Test & evaluate, deploy, and management data security platform solutions.
- Work closely with development teams to support deployment of new data security-related solutions for proof-of-concept efforts.
- Research technologies and data security capabilities.
- Participate in cross-functional technical reviews as well as pre-audit reviews.
- Communicate issues and compliance gaps to affected stakeholders, business areas, and vendors.
- Aid remediation efforts to correct internal and external data security related issues and compliance gaps.
- Document and maintain security policies, requirements, and patterns for use in ongoing support and future efforts that require modifications or upgrades to the infrastructure.
What you'll need
- 7+ years in data security, cybersecurity engineering, or cloud security roles.
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications or Engineering preferred or related work experience.
- Hands-on experience with data security engineering in a hybrid financial services environment (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with data security platform technologies like Database Activity Monitoring, Data Discovery & Inventory, Data Access Governance, CASB, and DLP.
- Experience implementing data security controls, policies, or procedures for protecting data used in Machine Learning / Large Language Model (AI) systems (preferred).
- Experience supporting audits, risk assessments, and regulatory exams.
- Experience communicating and working with non-technical stakeholders with the ability to translate technical risks into business impact for stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data protection encryption techniques (at rest, in transit, field-level), tokenization, masking, and anonymization and data classification and tagging strategies for sensitive data.
- Understanding of zero trust architecture and identity-aware data access.
- Understanding insider threat detection, UEBA, and anomaly detection techniques.
- Familiarity with GLBA, SOX, FFIEC, and NYDFS 500 regulations.
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and NIST CSF.
Salary $99,200 Annually
