What You'll Do
- Manage and maintain enterprise systems and platforms to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Monitor system health, capacity, and performance; proactively address potential issues using enterprise observability tooling.
- Implement system patches, security fixes, and software upgrades in accordance with organizational policies and compliance standards.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical incidents and perform root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure adherence to IT governance, security standards, and audit/compliance requirements.
- Automate routine administrative and operational tasks using scripting languages and configuration management tools.
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives, including migration to containerized environments, Kubernetes orchestration, and decommissioning of legacy platforms.
- Support and optimize middleware and infrastructure components such as WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, and Redis.
- Collaborate closely with application, network, and security teams to ensure seamless operational integration and delivery.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
- Participate in design discussions and provide technical input on scalability, reliability, and performance improvements across the environment.
- Assist in evaluating and integrating new technologies, tools, and automation opportunities.
- Communicate complex technical issues clearly, including their operational and business impacts, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across technical and cross-functional teams to drive solutions and support enterprise initiatives.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities, adapting to evolving needs.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on thorough root‑cause analysis and long-term stability.
- Take ownership of deliverables and contribute meaningfully to large-scale efforts with minimal supervision.
- Maintain high standards for documentation, operational consistency, and compliance across supported platforms.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of systems administration experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a production environment utilizing Linux/Unix administration capabilities.
- Practical experience operating Kubernetes clusters, deploying with Helm, and working with container networking.
- Working knowledge of middleware and application platforms such as WebLogic, Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat, and Redis.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and configuration management tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).
- Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) and exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or similar).
- Proficiency in scripting languages primarily Bash and Python for automation and operational tooling.
- Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation, covering after‑hours and weekend periods on a rotating basis (typically every 5 weeks, but may vary based on team staffing).
What Could Set You Apart:
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, and related technologies.
- Strong grasp of core networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
- Experience managing OS and application patching, as well as supporting security compliance initiatives.
Salary $84,100 Annually
