JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develops and modifies complex information system programs.
  • Leads project teams and defines specifications for complex software programming applications and modifies existing applications. Improves software performance by investigating problems, developing specifications, identifying trends in technology, and recommending, integrating and documenting solutions
  • Independently analyzes and isolates application issues and performs problem resolution.
  • Monitors progress of larger software-based projects by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
  • Works as part of a team.
  • Mentors colleagues in software engineering best practices.
  • Performs code reviews of junior software engineers and provides constructive feedback on any findings, both verbal and in writing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading the planning and execution of website development projects, including scoping, task delegation, and timeline management
  • Architecting and developing custom WordPress solutions, including themes, plugins, and functionalities tailored to client specifications
  • Implementing advanced performance optimization techniques, including server-side optimizations, caching strategies, and content delivery networks (CDNs)
  • Ensuring robust security measures, including data encryption, user authentication, and protection against common web vulnerabilities
  • Mentoring junior team members, offering guidance on complex development tasks, troubleshooting, and best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Extensive experience with WordPress CMS, including custom theme and plugin development
  • Expertise in responsive web design and mobile optimization
  • In-depth knowledge of web security best practices
  • Proven track record of successful project leadership and client interaction
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including mentoring abilities
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • (Optional) Server administration skills for managing servers that host Wordpress and other web sites.
  • (Optional) Experience with the Drupal CMS to help out a sister development team when our Wordpress development is slow.

Salary: $90,000 to $120,000
