About the role:

As a Software Engineer on Search & Knowledge, you’ll have a huge impact on our product and direction. You’ll be working with our product team to craft great user experiences around the magic our AI creates. The team is a collaborative but highly autonomous working environment in which each member has a defined role with clear expectations, as well as the freedom to pursue individual projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a substantial role in the Cresta Search & Knowledge engineering team.
  • Work with Cresta product and engineering teams, build and continuously improve the Cresta knowledge platform and new product requirements.
  • Stay closely with customers and their requirements, analyze the technical tradeoffs, own the customer facing deliverables.
  • Develop high quality, well designed, reusable, and well-tested system components, and contribute to the overall system designs.
  • Optimize the platform design and implementation for better user experience, lower latency, higher throughput, better reliability, and cost reduction.
  • Demonstrate the engineering best practices in deliverables and daily work. Uphold others to the same high standards.
  • Grow into technical ownership in a substantial part of the Cresta product and platform.
  • Contribute to building the best-in-class company in addition to building the best-in-class product.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant domains.
  • Proficient in designing and maintaining clear and robust APIs based on strong understanding of various protocols including gRPC, REST, etc.
  • Experience in working closely with frontend engineering teams to provide seamless user experience.
  • Experience in high performance query optimization for both structured and unstructured queries.
  • Experience in Elasticsearch, including designing search schemas, implementing queries, and optimizing search performance.
  • Experience in containerized application deployment with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with one of the major cloud providers.

Compensation for this position includes a base salary, equity, and a variety of benefits. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
