As a critical member of the HR team, the HR Business Partner is a key leader and has the unique opportunity to support the company by being a problem solver. This is a strategic role that partners with leadership to influence key business initiatives, accelerate business, foster collaboration and simplify complexity. This role is 100% in office and is based out of San Jose, California, supporting Therma, an industry-leading mechanical contracting company under the Legence brand, representing approximately 1,000 union and non-union employees.

- Invest in relationships and work to get a deep understanding of the business and leadership priorities, including business strategies, P&L, and key initiatives that drive the bottom line.
- Partner with leadership to forge strong relationships. Speak straight and communicate with impact utilizing strong collaboration and influencing skills.
- Share information while partnering with the HR shared services team to support a wide range of projects across HR Management, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation and Benefits, HRIS and Payroll.
- Listen to understand and be influential in balancing business unit needs with overall company vision and initiatives to protect the interests of the organization as a whole.

- Must be strategic minded, able to see the big picture, and be future focused. Must have a proven track record of operating in a fast-paced HR environment, with an aptitude across the entire range of HR functions.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in a developed HR environment with exposure to a broad range of HR services.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation & benefits, employee relations, training & development, talent acquisition, HR compliance, etc.
- Generalist or HR Lead experience preferred.
- Experience working with a unionized workforce preferred.
- Proven experience in conflict resolution and managing employee relations issues.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of California employment laws and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree with a major/minor or emphasis in HR or other relevant field preferred.
