The Mom Project is excited to partner with a well-established CPA firm located in the Chicago suburbs to hire an experienced Bookkeeper & Tax Preparer.
This is a part-time opportunity averaging approximately 20–25 hours per week, ideal for an accounting professional looking for a flexible schedule while continuing to work directly with clients and maintain hands-on bookkeeping and tax experience.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Do
- Provide ongoing bookkeeping and general accounting support for clients
- Prepare individual (1040), partnership (1065), corporate (1120), S corporation (1120S), and trust tax returns
- Assist with compilations and reviews
- Work directly with clients to gather financial information, answer questions, and resolve accounting and tax-related matters
- Research tax and accounting issues as needed
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure work is completed on time
- Manage multiple client priorities and deadlines
- Communicate with clients and team members in a timely, professional, and positive manner
- Support a diverse client base, including individuals, business owners, small businesses, trusts, franchises, and high-net-worth clients
- Hands-on bookkeeping and general accounting experience
- Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
- Ability to independently manage multiple client accounts and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Public accounting or CPA firm experience strongly preferred
- CPA designation preferred
- Experience with CCH Axcess is a plus
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Must be local to the Chicago area and able to work onsite 2–3 days per week
