We are seeking an Accounting Operations Specialist on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days remote/week) in Urbandale, IA.

We are seeking an Accounting Operations Specialist on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days remote/week) in Urbandale, IA.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting processes and systems, ensuring accurate processing, recording, and reporting of financial data
- Maintain ownership of financial reporting accuracy and integrity
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, including SOX requirements and external audit procedures
- Monitor and enforce adherence to accounting principles, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Review, approve, and occasionally prepare ad hoc financial analyses using operational and financial data
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a positive team culture and engagement
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial initiatives
- Serve as a consultant to management and controllers on financial processes, planning, and performance
- Identify and drive process improvements, operational efficiencies, and implementation of new technologies
- Lead and support projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment and timely delivery
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple teams
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to drive execution, manage priorities, and lead through influence
- Experience working with and leading teams across multiple locations
- Proven ability to manage complex business processes, resolve conflicts, and deliver results on time
- Experience driving cross-functional collaboration and process improvements
