We are seeking a Know Your Customer (KYC) Manager on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is hybrid in Los Angeles, CA.
This role will be part of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance team within the broader Compliance function, which sits under the Legal organization. The AML compliance program is global in scope and covers a wide range of AML-regulated products and services across the organization and its regulated subsidiaries. The compliance ecosystem is continuing to mature, supported by a dedicated, collaborative, and growing team that partners closely with multiple business units to support customer needs and regulatory obligations.

The Know Your Customer (KYC) Manager will report to the Senior AML Compliance Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that fintech product onboarding flows adhere to customer information collection and verification regulatory requirements for registered money services businesses, as well as fintech-partner bank obligations, in alignment with industry standards and best practices. This role supports regulated business initiatives and activities and encompasses both Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) compliance processes for consumer- and business-facing products.

Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing oversight of KYC and KYB compliance programs across multiple fintech product verticals for consumer and business customers
- Oversee compliance activities spanning multiple jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to implement, refine, and enhance controls related to KYC, KYB, PEP screening, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and AML training
- Design, enhance, and mature KYC and KYB control frameworks and oversee execution
- Advise business partners on KYC and KYB requirements for new product launches and post-launch enhancements
- Develop and implement risk-based approaches for Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
- Identify, document, and analyze compliance issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive issues to resolution
- Resolve audit findings and partner cross-functionally to ensure operational processes align with compliance standards
- Support regulatory exams and sponsor bank requests related to KYC and KYB
- Partner cross-functionally to drive automation, artificial intelligence adoption, and process efficiencies across KYC and KYB programs
- Ensure timely delivery of compliance objectives across jurisdictions
- Operate effectively in dynamic environments with evolving business priorities and regulatory requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in AML-related compliance or similar compliance functions
- Minimum of 3 years of experience overseeing KYC and KYB policies and program governance
- Minimum of 2 years of experience performing Enhanced Due Diligence to meet regulatory and sponsor bank requirements
- Direct experience conducting Politically Exposed Person (PEP) screening, including process optimization and management reporting
- Strong knowledge of AML and BSA laws and regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience implementing AML, KYC, and KYB requirements in product onboarding environments
- Experience working with KYC and KYB verification vendors and compliance tools
- Experience working directly with operational teams on BSA/AML workflows within fintech or money services businesses
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment
- Ability to work independently with a proactive and self-motivated approach
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
- Experience working in fintech, banking, financial services, or startup environments
- Experience launching KYC and KYB programs with a user-first mindset
- Knowledge of Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Ultimate Beneficial Ownership practices
- Familiarity with Customer Risk Rating methodologies
- Experience interpreting and analyzing data using analytical or querying tools such as SQL or Python
- Professional certifications, including CAMS, CFE, or ICA in Financial Crime Prevention
