Our Customer is a consumer financial services company headquartered in Connecticut. The company offers consumer financing products, including credit, promotional financing and loyalty programs, installment lending to industries, and FDIC-insured consumer savings products through the consumer bank, its wholly owned online bank subsidiary.

We are seeking a Data Protection Engineer on a contract basis to support our customer’s ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote.

This position will be responsible for driving an enterprise-wide data loss prevention program to safeguard and secure the organization’s data. This includes creating and modifying DLP policies and rules to identify, detect, and protect data. In this role, this individual will be part of the Data Protection Engineering team for Information Security, working with the cybersecurity teams and key business stakeholders to help define data loss prevention strategy and roadmap, and influencing teams to deliver best-in-class data loss prevention service.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build effective Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and rules to protect organizational data
  • Develop and implement data labeling strategies to safeguard sensitive information
  • Support the Data Protection product owner in defining intent, roadmap, strategy, execution, and delivery of the DLP program
  • Develop and manage Data Loss Prevention metrics and performance tracking
  • Monitor emerging threats and enhance capabilities to prevent data exfiltration
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to resolve DLP-related challenges within the Data Protection security service
  • Partner with key stakeholders to align sensitive data protection with DLP capabilities
  • Act as a trusted advisor and central point of contact for IT and business stakeholders on DLP initiatives

Skills And Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Experience with data labeling strategies
  • Experience with data discovery tools and processes
