We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead two product development teams. The role involves leading two key product development teams in building new software solutions that will fuel our company's next phase of growth.

One team is focused on developing and maintaining platform capabilities for recurring business models. The second team is responsible for building and maintaining products that manage customer and transaction resolution processes.

Your primary goal will be to enable your teams to operate with autonomy, speed, and technical excellence. This is a chance to evolve as a strategic leader, navigate complexity, and drive high-impact initiatives on brand new projects.

What You'll Do

  • Lead & Develop: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

  • Provide Technical Leadership: Guide architectural and technical decisions to ensure the scalability, security, and maintainability of our Order Management System (OMS).

  • Drive Execution: Oversee the entire development lifecycle, ensuring efficient planning, prioritization, and delivery of engineering projects.

  • Collaborate Cross-functionally: Work closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams to align technical initiatives with business objectives.

  • Improve Processes: Enhance engineering workflows and implement best practices to drive operational efficiency.

  • Ensure Quality: Maintain high code quality and adherence to software development best practices through design reviews and technical mentorship.

  • Contribute to Strategy: Help shape the engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning it with Stord's broader business goals.

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years in an engineering leadership role.

  • A strong development background, preferably with Elixir/Phoenix or other functional programming languages.

  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems or complex enterprise applications.

  • The ability to mentor and develop engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • A strong understanding of software development best practices, system architecture, and DevOps principles.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas to diverse teams.

  • Experience as an Engineering Manager at multiple companies.

  • Previous startup experience.

  • Experience in logistics or supply chain technology.

  • Hands-on experience with OMS, Customer Experience (CX), or e-commerce platforms.
