We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead our Order Management System (OMS) engineering team. This OMS team is responsible for building and maintaining the Order Management System (OMS) and the Consumer Experience (CX) platform. The OMS powers our innovative, world-class logistics network, enabling leading omni-channel brands to achieve significant optimizations and cost savings. Through advanced automation, intelligent routing, and robust order management tools, the system ensures that orders are fulfilled in alignment with each client’s unique goals and objectives. Meanwhile, the CX platform serves as Stord's consumer-facing solution, enabling our clients’ customers to engage seamlessly with their brands through pre and post-purchase interactions, enhancing the overall consumer experience.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for guiding a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role will push you to evolve into a more effective, resilient, and strategic leader, equipping you with the skills to navigate complexity, drive high-impact initiatives, and inspire a high-performing team. What You’ll Do:

  • Lead & Develop: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide architectural and technical guidance to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of the OMS.

  • Execution & Delivery: Oversee the development lifecycle, ensuring efficient planning, prioritization, and execution of engineering projects.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams to align technical initiatives with business objectives.

  • Process Improvement: Enhance engineering processes, streamline workflows, and implement best practices to drive operational efficiency.

  • Code & Architecture Oversight: Ensure high code quality and adherence to software development best practices through design reviews and technical mentorship.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning it with Stord’s broader business goals.

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in software engineering, with 3+ years in an engineering leadership role.

  • Strong background development, preferably in Elixir/Phoenix or other functional programming languages.

  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems or complex enterprise applications.

  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, system architecture, and DevOps principles.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other teams. You will be required to clearly articulate complex technical ideas and plans with people of diverse backgrounds.
