Job Summary

The Controller/HR Manager will play a significant role in driving lasting growth within the Saleo organization and deepening employee relationships for the benefit of our amazing customers. In the Controller role, the successful candidate will oversee all financial and accounting activities and will report directly to the CEO. This person will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting. In the HR Manager role, key areas of responsibility will include policy and procedure compliance, administration of employee benefits, and development and maintenance of HR practices. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy, entrepreneurial environment and is well-versed in working closely with senior management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the operations of the accounting department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Manage the preparation and processing of payroll for personnel.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
  • Communicate financial metrics to the CEO & Board
  • Assist department managers with hiring staff, including posting jobs online, scheduling interviews, and generating offer letters.
  • Implement personnel onboarding and off-boarding procedures.
  • Oversee benefits enrollment and management.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Accounting designation or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
  • 5+ years of accounting and/or financial management experience plus 2+ years of human resources experience
  • Incredible interpersonal, listening, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
  • Ability to work closely with senior management within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
