Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate and results-driven Client Success Manager. The Client Success Manager is ultimately responsible for maintaining client satisfaction, ensuring revenue retention, and cultivating opportunities for revenue expansion.

  • You will play a key role in helping Plural’s clients understand, track, and influence legislation in Congress and all 50 states.
  • You will deliver value to our clients across their entire experience with our company and products, including: onboarding, training, technical implementation, product adoption, customer support, client retention, and client appreciation.
  • A core function of this role is collecting, interpreting, and escalating client feedback to the product team and/or other divisions of the business.
  • You will advocate internally for our clients’ needs and, in turn, communicate any limitations to clients.
  • Ideal candidates will contribute to the development of new sales opportunities through client referrals, existing network contacts, events, and client marketing.
  • The Client Success Manager will partner closely with other functions in the company, especially the sales, marketing, and product teams.

Plural is a small and scrappy team. We look for talented people who are comfortable working independently, pitching in where needed, and learning new skills. We employ a non-hierarchical management structure, and business decisions are made by our Board and Cofounders. The Client Success Manager is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the executive team. While you'll work independently, you'll have regular support and collaboration from leadership.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relational Skills: You are a skilled oral and written communicator. You can build rapport, navigate tension with grace, and easily convey dense or difficult concepts.
  • Technical Curiosity: You are curious and eager to learn. If you see something you don’t understand, you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and diving in until you do understand — whether it’s a software feature, a policy document, or a confusing legislative process.
  • Strategic Mindset: You naturally spot opportunities for improvement, proactively solve problems, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive business growth. Your ability to think strategically will help you prioritize and manage multiple priorities at once.

You may be a good fit for this role if:

  • You have 3+ years of experience building and managing strong relationships, influencing others, or driving engagement with clients, constituents, or community members — whether through fundraising, community organizing, policy advocacy, or education roles.

*While prior experience in sales or customer success is valuable, we encourage candidates from diverse professional backgrounds—particularly outside tech—to apply.

  • You have 2+ years of direct experience with state-level policy, whether as a staff person, intern, or volunteer leader. You understand the basics of how a bill becomes a law and can identify the various players and powerbrokers in the process.
  • You are comfortable using and learning new technologies. Specifically, you have experience using Hubspot, Salesforce, or a similar CRM. You have also used a web or content management system, such as Hubspot, Mailchimp, Squarespace, etc.
  • You are a precise and careful written communicator. You have worked in roles where you were responsible for drafting public-facing communications, such as training materials, blog posts, email copy, scripts, newsletters, and more.
  • You have some experience working in a remote-first, distributed team. You have designed and facilitated virtual meetings, webinars, and/or training sessions.

You will like this role if:

  • You are a policy wonk.
  • You love working with people.
  • You love learning and getting shit done.
  • You want to be part of a diverse, values-driven team.
