As an engineering lead, you’ll help translate high-level concepts into action, and act as a force multiplier within the team as we build our innovative web, desktop, and mobile apps.

Role Summary

As a Senior Backend Engineering Lead, you’ll lead the work of one of our backend teams, providing both technical and team leadership. Your responsibilities will include hands-on work in Go, architecture definition for yourself and the members on your team, guiding your team’s development, and participating in roadmap planning and delivering high value, transformative software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Leveraging your own and the team’s skills to be a force multiplier while building and scaling our backend services.
• Technical owner and point of contact for the backend team.
• Mentoring and training other team members.
• Managing individual and team priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
  
  

Education

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science.
  
  

Experience

• 5+ years in an engineering lead capacity.
• 5+ years designing and operating highly available multi-tenant services.
• 2+ years of relevant experience working with Go or similar systems languages.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of databases in the context of highly scalable web services, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of Networking concepts (like TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, etc).
• Experience with Linux, containers, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with best practices for securing cloud based services.
  
  

Human Skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
