ICON is seeking a Senior Product Owner to lead the development of a key subsystem within our groundbreaking Phoenix construction platform. In this role, you will drive product execution and delivery, ensuring technical and strategic alignment across cross-functional teams. You’ll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and other product owners to deliver innovative solutions that push the boundaries of robotic construction. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus and will report to our VP of Phoenix Engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary owner for a defined product subsystem, accountable for timely, on-budget delivery that meets all performance and interface requirements.
  • Report to the Product Manager and escalate budget, schedule, or priority issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with functional leads to ensure effective processes, clear alignment, and implementation of best practices across the team.
  • Own and manage product priorities, ensuring alignment with business goals and tracking progress through the Master Schedule.
  • Coordinate with other Product Owners to ensure full system integration and adherence to high-level product requirements.
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders, customers, and end-users to ensure the product is addressing the right problems.
  • Communicate critical changes and implementation impacts to all relevant functional disciplines.
  • Track, document, and manage product-level risks throughout development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. degree in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, or an associate’s degree with 10+ years of equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex engineering products and hitting key milestones in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply first principles thinking.
  • Hands-on experience with development of industrial machinery, robotics systems, and automation solutions — including considerations for field deployment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, supplier engagement, and building strategic partnerships.
  • Proven track record of launching products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
  • Understanding of AGILE methodologies and how to apply them in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Service-oriented approach and ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years in Product Management, Product Development, or as a Technical Lead in a similar environment.
  • Working knowledge of relevant safety and compliance standards such as OSHA, CE, UL, ISO, and the Machinery Directive.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in challenging field environments (extreme temperatures, variable weather, remote sites).
  • Availability to travel internationally up to 4+ weeks per year.
