ICON is seeking a Manager, Field Operations to lead and streamline the day-to-day management of our print operations team. You will directly lead ICON’s world-famous Print Captains and will oversee the deployment and operational efficiency of ICON’s 3D printing technology, working across multiple project sites in the United States and abroad. This role requires cross-functional collaboration to maintain 24/7 operations, while ensuring project delivery is on time and within scope. You will directly manage Senior Print Captains and work closely with Training and Workforce Managers, reporting to the Senior Director of Print Operations. As the Manager, you will drive operational improvements, resource management, and performance standards, while mentoring your team to meet and exceed performance targets. This role will report to the Senior Director, Print Operations and ESS out of our Austin, Texas office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Leadership & Project Management

  • Oversee all stages of project execution, from pre-deployment planning to post-project closeout.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager and Project Manager to ensure seamless execution and project handoffs.
  • Manage material logistics and consumable inventories to support field operations.
  • Lead operational efforts to optimize resource utilization and minimize project downtime
  • 50%+ travel required

Team Management & Development

  • Recruit, hire, and manage Print Captains and Technicians to ensure the team is properly sized and skilled for current and upcoming projects.
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to ensure high team performance.
  • Ensure the field team complies with all safety and operational standards through close collaboration with the Training Manager.
  • Manage performance documentation and promotions as needed.

Technology & Process Optimization

  • Continuously improve field processes by working with internal departments to implement best practices.
  • Maintain the Print Operations Knowledge Base, including real-time updates to policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Oversee physical equipment management, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and other essential gear.

Data & Performance Management

  • Track and analyze performance metrics to ensure field teams meet targets for productivity, safety, and operational quality.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement new policies, certifications, and training programs.
  • Manage project-specific expenses, including consumables and personnel equipment, ensuring proper expense reconciliation.
  • Ensure weekly timesheets are processed for the entire field team and manage expense reporting through tools such as Coupa.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or a fast-paced industry involving team leadership and dynamic operations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive process improvements in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and initiative-taking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work in a process-driven environment while balancing high-level planning and detail-oriented execution.
  • Flexibility to work upwards of 60 hours a week as needed to meet business demands.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with concrete construction materials or experience in a factory production setting.
  • Experience with industrial safety systems.
  • Industry-relevant certifications
  • Lean construction/process certifications
