The Associate Test Print Technician is proficient in safely and compliantly operating ICON's print suite. They receive daily instructions from the Test Print Technician and Testing Team Leadership, collaborating with teammates to accomplish various on-site tasks. They tackle difficult assignments, using judgment to resolve issues and make recommendations while escalating larger problems. With a growth mindset and attention to detail, they aim to acquire new skills daily and avoid repeating mistakes. This role is based at ICON’s HQ in Austin, TX


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support assigned print team in executing R&D test campaigns, encompassing tasks such as material testing, new hardware implementation, architectural mockups, advanced wall geometry exploration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize tablets equipped with ICON's software to monitor, operate, and interpret all printer operation variables and functions, promptly addressing and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Operate and interact with various 3D printing subsystems, including pumps, hoses, hydraulics, electrical equipment, motors, controls, and software.
  • Conduct air meter tests, slumps, and record quality control data, collaborating with your team to make necessary adjustments to meet material specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback to the Test Print Technician and actively participating in process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned print suite and slab area, as well as throughout the entirety of Printland.
  • Operate heavy equipment to support site needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working in the field.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and perform 10+ hour shifts, engaging in manual labor.
  • Readiness to work in diverse outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures, sun, rain, mud, and situations with limited electricity.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs, climb ladders frequently, and handle concrete regularly.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with attention to detail and operational discipline.


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possessing a technical degree, professional certification, or prior experience in construction, technology, or a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Prior experience operating heavy machinery is a plus but not required.
  • Having OSHA certification is a plus but not required.
