Nashville, TN, USA

USD 62,500-87,500 / year

Location: This is a field-based, remote role. We're targeting candidates ideally based in Denver or Dallas metro areas— markets we're looking to build a presence in as we grow. Candidates must be willing to travel to Nashville for in-person initial onboarding (paperwork, hands-on product training, and sales kit pickup) and periodic follow-up training before working from their home market.

About Us

At HeroWear we make wearable technology to help hardworking men and women do their jobs and go home every day feeling better. Our exosuit is at the cutting edge of technology and helps the hardest working people in our communities save their bodies from what is often literally back-breaking work. Our team is a multi-disciplinary group of engineers, scientists, and business leaders who love building great products and great companies. In this role, you will help bring this solution to some of the largest companies in the world to improve the lives of their workers.

About the Role

The Associate Account Executive sits above a prospecting/BDR-style function and below our full Account Executive role. You'll own smaller deals from start to finish, and you'll also handle the first round of qualification on a slice of our inbound leads. That means running the initial discovery call, sizing up the real opportunity, and either closing it yourself or handing it off to a full Account Executive with clean, honest context if it turns out to be bigger than your scope.

This is a defined ramp role, not a permanent seat. Associate Account Executives are expected to move up to a full Account Executive role, with larger deals, a full book of business, and territory ownership, in roughly 6 months and no later than 12 months.

What We Look For in a HeroWear Salesperson
  • You understand customers' needs and the needs of various stakeholders within their organizations and can speak to how our products and solutions create value for customers.
  • You can discuss our patented technology product in a way that is easy to understand and can adjust messaging to your audience — from CFOs and Ops leaders through Shift Leads and facility managers.
  • You are passionate about bringing new technology to an industrial marketplace that can truly benefit from its use.
  • You thrive in a sales environment that offers unique product solutions (not commoditized products) to customers who need our solution to support their workforce (but may not even know our solution exists).
  • You are relentlessly resourceful with a bias for action in order to achieve your quarterly goals.
  • You are self-reliant and goal-driven, motivated by a compensation plan that rewards top performers through commission.
  • You’ve created opportunities where none existed - through cold outreach, a side hustle, an unconventional path to your last job, or just refusing to wait for leads to be handed to you.
Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of the needs of our customers (both users and buyers), working alongside senior Account Executives on live opportunities.
  • Own and close smaller/starter opportunities from inbounds, trade shows, and other sources, taking them from pilot phases through initial deployment while meeting quarterly sales goals.
  • Communicate well with Marketing to improve the quality of the Marketing-to-Sales pipeline and provide feedback on how our messaging is resonating with customers.
  • Proactively hunt for your own opportunities — referrals, outbound, partnerships, trade shows — rather than relying solely on inbound handed to you. The reps who create their own pipeline are the ones who get promoted fastest.
  • Work with Client Services to ensure the successful transition of customers from prospects to users.
  • Work with Inside Sales support to ensure that the CRM system (HubSpot) is updated with accurate customer and sales opportunity information.
  • Build the territory knowledge and track record needed to take ownership of a developing territory as the role grows.
  • Comfortable working outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional overnight or third-shift hours, since many of our customers run 24-hour operations and need training, demos, or support scheduled around their shift patterns.
Career Path

This is a defined developmental role. Associate Account Executives are expected to move up to a full Account Executive role, with larger deals, full book of business, and territory ownership, in roughly 6 months and no later than 12.

Promotion is based on onboarding completion, product and industry proficiency, and performance against your goals. Consistently sourcing and honestly surfacing opportunities that exceed your scope is itself a strong readiness signal, and can accelerate the timeline.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree or higher; degrees in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Occupational Health & Safety are a strong plus.
  • 1–2 years of B2B sales experience; closing experience into industrial clients (logistics, manufacturing) is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with a sales CRM (HubSpot preferred).
  • Willing to travel (up to 50%, increasing as the role grows into territory ownership).
  • Early track record of success in a goal- or metrics-driven environment.

Compensation

  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $62,500–$87,500
  • Structure: Base + bonus, tied to quarterly goal attainment
